Introduction to Desktop Video Conferencing
Desktop IP video conferencing is available on multiple platforms, the most common is Polycom PVX (software) or Polycom ViaVideo (hardware) for Windows. We encourage all users to install H323 hardware or software solutions for interactive desktop collaboration. Any desktop solution must include echo cancellation. Also available is information on Ekiga and GnomeMeeting, which are open source programs that run under Linux and supports many audio and video codecs. XMeeting or OhPhoneX is also an open source program providing video conferencing solutions to Mac OS X.
